We will never forget!

Today we pause in remembrance of the events of September 11. Our prayers continue to go out to the families of those lost during this tragedy. We pray for our great country that is still the land of the free and the home of the brave. One country, under God, with liberty and justice for all. Today, even during these unprecedented times, let us never forget!

Our Commitment to You – COVID-19

Dear Datamaxx Customers and Partners,

First and foremost, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your loved ones during these uncertain times. Like so many, we have a heavy heart as we hear each day about the devastating impact COVID-19 is having across the globe.  The COVID-19 pandemic has been dynamic and intense for all of us these past few weeks.  We ask ourselves questions everyday which were unthinkable a few weeks ago.

As information continues to flow on the impact COVID-19 is having across the globe, Datamaxx wanted to share what we are doing to continue to serve and support our clients, while at the same time, protecting our employees.

Beginning Monday, March 23, 2020, a majority of Datamaxx employees began working remotely, with the exception of a few of our dedicated team members who must operate within headquarters due to their job function.  Even then, we have insured that through staggering work schedules, work space orientation, constant disinfecting of the overall facility, we are insuring the health and well-being of these team members.  We have also limited, postponed and/or suspended travel.

We have employed the use of various technology and conferencing solutions to ensure our employees stay connected to their teams and maximize the effectiveness of working remotely. As an essential provider to our customers, we are committed to continue to be there to help you throughout this time

Helping our customers, partners, and communities is core to who we are.  Yet we find ourselves dealing with an unprecedented situation.  While we find ourselves in a time such as this, we wanted to assure you that we have policies and procedures in place to continue to provide world-class customer support.  Our secure cloud customers have experienced no downtime. All Datamaxx teams are managing contingencies on a daily and even hourly basis.  We are confident that we will do everything possible for you to remain productive.

While these times are difficult, I continue to be inspired as I see our world, nation and local communities coming together to support one another and ultimately conquer this pandemic.  The Datamaxx Team is part of your community and we continue to be dedicated to supporting you through this time.

Please stay safe and know that you can count on Datamaxx!

All the Best,

Kay Stephenson

Datamaxx Attains National Certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise

WBENCDatamaxx is excited to announce it recently attained national certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise by the Women’s Development Council of Florida, a regional certifying partner of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).

“Datamaxx is pleased to receive the WBENC certification and assist our customers, both present and future, in meeting their diversity initiatives,” commented Datamaxx CEO Kay Stephenson.

WBENC is an approved Third Party Certifier for the United States Small Business Administration (SBA) Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) Federal Contracting Program. WBENC’s national standard of certification implemented by the Women’s Development Council of Florida is a meticulous process including an in-depth review of the business and site inspection. The certification process is designed to confirm the business is at least 51 percent owned, operated, and controlled by a woman or women.

To be eligible to compete for WOSB set-asides or receive sole source awards, organizations must either be certified by an SBA-approved Third-Party Certifier such as the WBENC or self-certify in accordance with current SBA regulations.  However, The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2016 eliminated the self-certification process for the WOSB program. More information on the SBA process can be found at www.sba.gov.

About the WBENC
The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council is the nation’s largest third party certifier of businesses owned and operated by women in the United States. WBENC is a resource for thousands of US companies and government agencies that rely on WBENC’s certification as an integral part of their supplier diversity programs. More information at www.wbenc.org.

Datamaxx Celebrates 25 Years Serving those Who Protect & Serve

In 1991, Jonathan Waters and I shared a passion to build a company to improve mission critical communications and to encourage information sharing for those on the front lines protecting our communities. Our vision soon became a reality and our successes multiplied. From our beginning, innovation has been the hallmark of who we are and what we do. Datamaxx became the first company to transmit images between state law enforcement agencies. In 1999, Datamaxx deployed the first wireless handheld application to the New York City Police Department. Then in 2003, Datamaxx became the first Strategic Partner of Nlets and launched the first Nlets-audited, FBI CJIS Compliant private secure cloud. Once again, in 2014, Datamaxx enhanced our product line to encompass solutions for “designated” critical infrastructures, eighty-five percent of which are owned by the private sector. These are just a few Datamaxx “firsts” and only the beginning of what is yet to come!

Our passion continues to burn brightly and is shared across the entire Datamaxx organization. We always want to bring to our customers ideas and solutions that no one else does. We want the opportunity to work with our customers to positively impact our world. As we look to the future, where security is of paramount concern, Datamaxx aims to bridge the gap between the public and private sector. We will develop new ways to help our law enforcement partners harness the power of timely and effective information sharing to protect our nation’s critical infrastructures and key resources. Recently, I was elected to Chair the Board of Directors of the IJIS Institute; IJIS facilitates collaboration between private companies and government agencies. Keeping our communities safe is more challenging every day and developing trust and cooperation in public/private partnerships is crucial to ensuring the continued safety of our homeland and its citizens.

Of course, Datamaxx success would not have been realized without the amazing support of our customers and the relationships we have nurtured over the years. On behalf of Datamaxx, please accept our sincere “thank you” for the privilege of working with you and for you. We remain committed to the law enforcement and criminal justice market, and as we embark upon our next twenty-five (25) years, we will continue to innovate and evolve to the changing needs of our customers. We are dedicated to helping law enforcement and critical infrastructure private sector entities partner together to build a vital and secure information environment to make our nation safer.

“Thank You So Much” for the privilege to serve you!

All the Best,

Kay Stephenson

Datamaxx Again Recognized as Top Women-Led Business in Florida

Tallahassee, FL – (April 24, 2015) The Datamaxx Group (Datamaxx), led by CEO, President, and Co-Founder Kay Stephenson, was named one of Florida’s 2015 Top Women-Led Businesses by The Commonwealth Institute (TCI), a distinction earned for nine consecutive years. The rankings are based on an annual survey distributed to roughly 5,000 businesses in Florida and analysis of survey responses by Kaufman Rossin, a South Florida accounting firm. Datamaxx ranked 27th and was the only Northwest Florida-based company included on the list.

The Commonwealth Institute in South Florida is a non-profit organization that helps women entrepreneurs, CEOs, and corporate executives build successful businesses through peer mentoring programs. In addition to looking at the characteristics of women leaders and their businesses and determining the Top 50 Women-Led Businesses, the survey found that 85% of women leading Florida businesses project moderate or substantial growth in their firms’ revenue and 60% expect to increase staff members.

“I’m honored that Datamaxx was recognized as a top women-led business again by The Commonwealth Institute and proud to represent Northwest Florida on the list,” commented Kay Stephenson. “Hopefully, our recognition will lead to increased awareness of the excellent business climate of Northwest Florida.”
